Editorial Standards
How this guide is researched
What we verify, where the numbers come from, how often pages are reviewed, and how to tell us when something is wrong.
The standard
Every factual claim on this site should be traceable to a primary source — a county record, a municipal department, a school district page, a licensing board, or a statistical agency. Where a claim is a judgment rather than a fact ("this pocket feels quieter," "this corridor is changing fastest"), it is written as a judgment, not dressed up as data.
What we do not publish
- Individual property listings, addresses, or asking prices. This is an area guide, not a listing portal, and listing data goes stale within days.
- School ratings presented as quality verdicts. We publish assignment mechanics and point you at the district and state sources instead.
- Crime statistics reframed as neighborhood safety scores. Small-area counts are volatile and easy to misread.
- Scraped review scores, which change constantly and are trivially gamed.
Review cadence
Each content page carries a "last updated" date reflecting the last time its facts and sources were re-checked. Market-sensitive pages — real estate, schools, commute — are reviewed more frequently than evergreen ones like architecture or history. A date on a page means the page was reviewed, not merely that a word was changed.
Citations
Answers in FAQ blocks carry an inline source. Longer pages carry a consolidated source list at the bottom. When a figure is a range compiled from multiple records rather than a single published number, it is written as a range and labeled as compiled.
Commercial relationships
Discover Cotswold recommends a small set of local firms: Peters & Associates for real estate representation, Peters Custom Homes for construction, Emerald & Oak Design for interiors, and Peters Audio Video for smart-home and AV work. These are commercial relationships and are disclosed on every module where they appear. They do not change what the guide reports about the neighborhood, and no editorial page is written to support a referral.
Corrections
Local facts change — a restaurant closes, a road project finishes, a school boundary moves. If you find something out of date or wrong, send it and we will verify against the primary source and update the page with a revised review date.
