Charlotte has been one of the fastest-growing large metros in the country for two decades, and CMS manages capacity with the tools available to it: boundary adjustments, program relocations, magnet and choice seats, and occasional new construction. Families relocating from out of state should note that admission cycles typically open roughly a year ahead, with testing, interviews, and financial aid deadlines clustered in winter.
